Scheduled refresh, gateways, and warehouse faults
A report that shows yesterday’s numbers is often not a visual problem. Scheduled refresh, the gateway, and the warehouse job sit behind the model. I treat those as part of the same delivery as the report.
What usually failed
The gateway service is down, a credential expired, or the warehouse table the model expects was late or empty. The visual then looks wrong even though the DAX is unchanged.
Capacity and workspace settings also stop a refresh that used to run. Those are administration issues, not measure issues.
How I work it
I check whether refresh completed, whether the gateway is reachable, and whether the warehouse row counts match what the report claims.
The schedule has to be unattended. If someone still has to press refresh, the handover is not done.
Questions
Why did a Power BI report stop updating?
Often the gateway, a credential, the schedule, or a late warehouse table. The visual is unchanged; the data behind it did not arrive.
What does reporting operations cover?
Workspace and capacity administration, gateway configuration, scheduled refresh, and investigation of warehouse issues that present as report faults.
