Why SSRS is better for emailed reports

Emailed operational reports need a subscription, a fixed file, and a time. SSRS was built for that. Power BI can send a mail, but the reliable pattern for a PDF or Excel pack that looks the same every morning is still an SSRS subscription.

What the inbox requires

A file that can be forwarded, filed, and opened without a licence prompt. A layout that does not depend on the reader’s browser.

A failure that shows up as a missing mail, not as a stale tile in a workspace the recipient never opens.

What I schedule

SSRS subscriptions to a named list, from the same warehouse as the Power BI model, on a clock operations already trust.

If someone still has to export from a report and attach it by hand, that is not a subscription. It is manual work I would replace.
